There are a million voices out there.
They tell me many things.
Joyful days and happiness.
The comfort that it brings.
There are a million voices out there,
Far too many lost and sad.
An endless sea of heartbreak
Jilted lovers raging mad.
There are a million voices out there,
A few are soft and quaint.
But most are loud and boisterous
As they express frustration and complaints.
There are a million voices out there.
I listen for the boys and girls
Though I find they’re often drowned out
By the chaos of this world.
There are a million voices out there,
For some you have to listen really hard.
They belong to all the outcasts.
The wounded, weak and scarred.
There are a million voices out there.
And I wonder, filled with fear
If the only voice that can break me free
Is one I cannot hear.
