Tuesday Morning

First class seat, flight 11.

It’s a beautiful day,

I’ve got my ticket

I’m headed home to L.A.

Sweetheart…

It’s hard leaving on business

At this time of year.

And there’s so much to do

Before the baby gets here.

I overslept this morning

woke a half hour late,

I got here just in time

Before they closed the gate.

I could have waited

and rebooked on a similar flight.

But my love, I had to

make it back to you tonight.

I breathed a sigh of relief

slipped into my seat,

grabbed a magazine

and stretched out my feet.

I don’t like being without you

For so many long hours

That’s just one of the reasons

I sent yesterdays flowers.

We’re about to take off,

I hear the hum of the wings.

And I’m bringing back with me

A few special things.

I know you miss

my warm smile and charms

in just a while,

I’ll once again be in your arms.

See you soon my love…

It’s a bright sunny morning,

It’s a beautiful day

I’ve got my ticket

I’m headed home to L.A.
